DESIGNER'S NOTES
This Fox & Chave poshmina™ design from a 14th-century French medieval Lady’s Book of Hours, now held in the Canterbury Cathedral Library in Kent, England.
A Book of Hours was a popular Christian devotional text in the Middle Ages, usually richly illuminated and intended for laypeople rather than clergy. Its name comes from the practice of reciting prayers, psalms, hymns, and readings at the eight canonical hours of the day. These books were often personalised for their owners, featuring elements such as family coats of arms, favourite flowers, portraits, and prayers dedicated to particular saints or personal interests.
