Willow Bough, made in 1887, is a more natural version of an earlier print design by William Morris called simply 'Willow' that was created thirteen years prior.  Many of Morris's wallpaper designs were based on plants and flowers he studied personally, and he stated in an 1881 lecture that the ideal pattern should have 'unmistakable suggestions of gardens and fields'.
